Aurora Sports Health Athletic Training Services
The Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club is proud to partner with the Aurora Sports Health network to provide our athletes with a licensed athletic trainer.
Our club’s athletic trainer is Nate Geidel from Aurora Sports Health. He is originally from West Bend, WI. Nate attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and a Sports Coaching Minor in May 2022. During his senior year he was a sports medicine intern working with the University of Minnesota’s football team. After graduation, he continued his education at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he obtained his Master’s of Science in Athletic Training in May 2024. Over the course of his education Nate was very fortunate to have amazing clinical opportunities and internships, which included working with Wisconsin Football, Wisconsin Volleyball, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Last year (2023), Nate had the privilege of working with the Wisconsin Volleyball team and even got the opportunity to travel with them to all of their away games including the Final Four down in Tampa. Nate has grown up surrounded by competitive volleyball his entire life with his sister playing competitively. With that and his clinical opportunity with Wisconsin Volleyball he will continue his passion and knowledge of the sport through beginning this journey with the Milwaukee Sting.
Nate works in conjunction with Dr. Rachel Muscott, an Aurora Sports Health Care Orthopedic Surgeon and designated team physician. Together this sports medicine team is dedicated to providing excellent care for all of its athletes. If your son or daughter sustains a sports-related injury, they can visit Nate in the athletic training facility at no charge (located inside the Milwaukee Sting Center). Nate does an excellent job of assessing the situation and recommending treatment options.
If an athlete needs a physician referral for further evaluation and diagnosis, Nate can easily help set-up an appointment with Dr. Muscott at one of her clinic locations.
Nate is excited to get to work with this elite program and cannot wait to meet all the athletes and coaches that make Milwaukee Sting the well-known program that they are!
Hours & Schedule
In addition to the weekly hours at the Milwaukee Sting Center, athletes’ parents can also reach out to Nate to set up a Free Injury Evaluation at the Aurora Sports Health Athlete Performance Clinic in Mequon if they are not able to see him at the Sting facility. Nate will be in the clinic there Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9-3PM each of those days. Again, here is where they can schedule a 20-30 minute free injury evaluation with him at no cost. The free injury evaluation is a basic evaluation to diagnose the injury/condition at hand and give any immediate care needed. However, this does not include any treatments or rehab given, as that will need to be run through insurance. If treatment or rehab is needed or wanted, one can find time with Nate at the Sting Facility or Nate can help set up an appointment with one of his amazing PT colleagues in the clinic. To set up one of those appointments with Nate in the clinic please send Nate an email at your earliest convenience with a time that works for you or schedule an appointment.
Aurora Sports Health also uses the “SWAY Medical” app for concussion baselines and assessments. If your son/daughter sustains a concussion during the year they will be run through a series of tests on the app including symptom check, memory, reaction time, and balance. Athletes will be required to take a baseline test at the start of the season and those baseline scores will be compared to in season test results if they show signs of or are diagnosed with a concussion. Please stay tuned and look for more information from the club or the team coach about how to complete the baseline test.
